-- back to anniversary preparations --

On April 27, 2011, the City of Port St. Lucie will reach its 50th anniversary. In honor of this significant milestone, a wonderful book detailing the city’s history, entitled “Port St. Lucie at 50: A City for All People,” will be available in early 2011 to those who pre-purchase a copy.

Written by Nina Baranski, former director of the city’s Community Relations Department (now known as the Communications Department), in collaboration with the Port St. Lucie Historical Society, the book is being underwritten by Riverside National Bank, Core Communities and Johnson Brothers Corporation.

The historical society is currently taking orders for limited, signed editions of the book for the price of $49.99 plus tax (copies that are not limited, signed editions will be sold at the price of $39.99 plus tax). To order your advance copy, e-mail or call the Port St. Lucie Historical Society at (772) 337-5698.

This book celebrating Port St. Lucie’s first 50 years is just one way the city will mark this significant point in its history. The anniversary will be celebrated in April 2011 with a week-long series of educational and fun events.
